Limestone: This type of stone is a natural sedimentary stone that arose as a result of the accumulation of aquatic organisms such as corals and mollusks after their death at the bottom of the oceans.
As a result of the action of waves and pressure on them, this stone is formed.
It contains quantities of silica in addition to different amounts of lime, depending on the origin and type.
Of course, it is considered one of the oldest natural stones, as some types of it were found more than 2.5 billion years ago.
Likewise, limestone is considered distinctive, which means that it is a natural stone that contains varying amounts of other elements, as we said earlier.
It is also called a lime stone and is characterized by its white color, which is interspersed with sesame granules.
Of course, limestone consists of at least 50% calcium carbonate, in addition to dolomite and clay minerals.
